I'd always wanted an aquarium, so in June 2007 I bought myself one.
It's a 'Vision 180' tank, which, as the description says hold 180 litres of
water. We have ours set up for a tropical aquarium. Its at about 24c
and we're trying our best to keep live plants in there. Its not the
keeping of the plants that is difficult, but preventing the fish feasting on
them.
We've never had any problems with the fish breeding, in fact, it's almost
every week. We've had to stop catching them now, as otherwise we'd be in
the hundreds by now.
The tank is great fun, we've got:
20 neon tetras.
5 glow light tetras.
2 catfish
1 Plex
5 shark finned platties.
8 'Micky Mouse' platties.
12 mollys
1 apple snail
We've got a cave, and a sunken pirate boat in there. One day I'm going
to find a water-proof web cam and throw that in there to.
We had to take out some of the smaller plants, as there were literally 10's
of new fish appearing every week, so they had to go.
We do a 25% water change ever week to keep them all happy :)
